And you thought day of the week panties were hot…

I just finished reading Sommer Marsden’s Calendar Girl on my vacation this past weekend. I really enjoyed this book. I almost wish I’d waited for my vacation to start it because it was perfect seaside reading 🙂  Hears the blurb:

Merritt Evans is expecting a lot out of her marriage but what she is not expecting is to come home to find her husband Drake diddling with the local trainer. Thanks to friends in high places, Merritt’s divorced by the new year. She’s ready to put her old life behind her and her best friend Jeffrey–drag queen and fake psychic extraordinaire–comes up with a game plan. A year of fun, frolicking and hot sex. No strings, no expectations and did he mention hot sex? A fresh guy every single month to get all the needs and kinks and cravings out of her system so she can move on. Merritt’s doing well with her plan until Penn Fratila shows up. Hot, Romanian and sexy as hell. Oh yeah, and he wants her. Bad.

My review: This book was awesome. All the characters were sooo well crafted and added just enough of those laugh out loud moments that I’ve come to expect from Sommer. Between the gay best friend, the recently outed brother and the parade of kinky, delicious men, I had to wonder why Merritt had any problems at all. I’d love to live amongst this colorful troupe! They made the serious points of this novel all the more poignant. They were a mirror for Merritt when she couldn’t see herself clearly and helped her in her journey to that hot Romanian. It’s no big secret that I’m a huge Sommer Marsden fan. She’s definitely one of my go to authors for smutty writings but, she’s also kind of a superwoman and I kinda love her for that 🙂 Having that said, this is my most favorite thing written by her to date!
